How Our Salon Diverted Over 800 Pounds of Waste From Landfills — Thanks to TerraCycle

At our salon, beauty has always meant more than great hair and a relaxing experience. It also means caring for our community and the planet. This year, we’re proud to celebrate a major milestone in our sustainability journey: we successfully recycled more than 800 pounds of salon waste through TerraCycle.

Why Salon Waste Matters

Traditional salons generate large amounts of hard-to-recycle waste—items like used color tubes, foil, product packaging, hair clippings, disposable gloves, and more. Unfortunately, many of these materials can’t go into standard curbside recycling bins and often end up in landfills.

We wanted to change that.

Partnering With TerraCycle

To dramatically reduce our environmental footprint, we partnered with TerraCycle, a company dedicated to recycling the “unrecyclable.” Through their specialized salon programs, we’re able to send in everything from:

• Color tubes and caps

• Foils and used processing materials

• Product bottles, pumps, and flexible packaging

• Hair clippings

• Used gloves and single-use tools

Once collected, TerraCycle breaks down, repurposes, or upcycles these materials into new products—keeping them out of landfills and giving them a second life.
